San Marino RTV (Italian: Radiotelevisione della Repubblica di San Marino (San Marino RTV)) is the public service broadcaster of the microstate of San Marino.

History

Experimental radio broadcasts began on 27 December 1992. On 28 February 1993, Radio San Marino was launched broadcasting 24 hours a day.

Experimental television began on 24 April 1993. On 28 February 1994 a regular television service was launched, broadcasting from 10am to 2am.

In July 1995, San Marino RTV became a full member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), making able to broadcast and participate in EBU events.

In 2007, San Marino RTV began interests in entering the Eurovision Song Contest, On 27 November 2007, it was announced that RTV San Marino would enter the 2008 edition, in Belgrade, Serbia, despite the fact that RAI (that withdrew from 1997) owns of 50% of the station.

In 2011, San Marino tried to participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, but they withdrew in October.
